NYC International Bridal Week 2014 | Hot Off The Runway
The biannual gathering at International Bridal Week 2014 in New York City was last week and I was lucky enough to be invited! It was my first time attending the show and my time in NY was very limited, but I was able to discover a few fantastic and new bridal trends that you will definitely make you squeal with excitement! Let me just tell you - the amount of bridal vendors and designers at this event was absolutely mind boggling. There was truly no way to see it all, but I enjoyed the little time spent there and will plan to stay longer next year. In addition to seeing beautiful gowns, jewelry and shoes, I also made a new friend! Mel from Melissa Hearts Weddings and her adorable mother sat next to me at the Eve of Milady show and we became well acquainted! She has an amazing blog that features tons of vintage bridal inspiration - so make sure you check it out! It's always so fun meeting fellow peers in the industry that you can share your experiences with and pick their brain every now and then for advice. I hope you love my favorite fashion finds as much as I do! Enjoy!
As a lover of all things eclectically vintage, naturally I was drawn to the booth of Heart of Gold designer bridal crowns. Do I need to say more? These exquisite pieces are created from vintage metals and turned into romantically modern designs perfect for unique brides wanting to feel like a queen! These pieces are gorgeous alternatives to a traditional wedding veil and would compliment gowns of any style. To see more of these beautiful designs check out the Heart of Gold Instagram page HERE.
As I walked down the endless aisles at the Bridal Week 2014 expo, I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this lavender haired maven. I knew right away I was in the company of like minded folks. Olivia Wright isn't only a model, but also the talented designer behind Mooshki brand bridal gowns. Specializing in retro styled tea length gowns, this United Kingdom based bridal boutique creates custom dress orders and ships worldwide. I absolutely fell in love with every design and strongly urge any newly engaged gal to hire them to create a special gown for their vintage or retro themed wedding. If you are constantly scouring Pinterest for wedding gowns like I am, then you are probably familiar with the next designer I came across at Bridal Week. Isreal's Riki Dalal is one of the hottest couture brands right now, with designs popping up in boutiques all around the world. As most of you already know, I'm OBSESSED with two piece wedding gowns and these ensembles are truly mind blowing. Riki Dalal constructs these sexy styled gowns with prestigious lace that is made especially for her. This allows her to keep her dresses luxurious and light with clean lines. These gorgeous gowns would fit perfectly in a beach wedding or an exotic destination wedding set in the Mediterranean.
Thanks to my friends at BrideClick, I was able to attend the Eve of Milady runway show and it was by far my favorite part of the day! It was so amazing sitting along the runway under the bright lights and seeing all the newest designs unveiled. Eve's gowns are truly magical with intricate beading and never ending ruffles and I loved capturing the excitement of the buyers and beauty of the models all to the tone of romantically whimsical music. Here are a few of my favorites from the newest Eve of Milady collection:
