A Black and White Wedding With Vibrant Floral Details by The Cannons Photography @cleverwedding

Snow, fur and vibrant bouquets make up this AMAZING black and white wedding inspiration featured today! When planning their Ohio winter wedding, Kate and Ben didn't have a particular theme in mind, which worked well in their favor because their engagement lasted just about two months. So, quick decisions and flexible compromises were key to their wedding day success.  And who would have even known it didn't take months to plan?  The details were exquisite, from the mix matched black and white bridesmaids to the unique floral arrangements made by a close family friend.  Special thanks to The Cannons Photography for this lovely submission. Enjoy!

How They Met

From the Bride:  "Ben and I met through friends at dinner one night at First Friday in Canton.  One of my friends invited me along and Ben was there. We didn't talk much that night, but gradually became closer friends through our mutual friends. We were friends for about two years before we started dating.  Our first date was a bike ride on the towpath that ended with ice cream.  Ben doesn't eat ice cream, but he did that day, because it's my favorite."

The Dress

'The wedding dress was ivory with a lot of lace and a little sparkle thrown in here and there. It was strapless with a tight bodice and an A-line skirt. I felt like it was flattering and simple, but really pretty and I felt like myself in it. I ended up needing to get something 'off the rack' because of the time crunch, so it did limit the choices somewhat. It also meant that I couldn't be crazy picky and had to be quick about my decision.  I tend to prolong big decisions, so this was helpful for me."

"For the bridesmaids, we let them all choose their own black and white wedding dresses.  I originally thought we could do pinks or corals, but again, because of the time crunch, this wasn't an option. We went to local department stores and they just don't carry bright hues in the dead of winter.  Surprise, surprise. So we went with a black, white and gold theme and let everyone choose something that they loved within that very loose scheme. I loved it because everyone was comfortable in what they chose and the dresses really did fit each personality."

The Ceremony

"I had both my mom and dad walk me down the aisle. It was great to be surrounded by both of them, since they've been a huge part of my life and upbringing. We had all our siblings in the wedding party. It made for a large party, but was totally worth it. The wedding party stood in a circle around us, which was neat and matched the architecture of the building. Our pastor had us turn around and look out over the crowd at the beginning of the ceremony.  That was really fun, and it made me tear up to see so many of our loved ones in one place.  It was really special."

The Black and White Wedding Reception

"The reception took place in a photographer's studio with a huge white wall used for photo shoots.  It's a pretty casual place, sort of like a large garage, with twinkle lights over the main room. The flowers were similar to the bouquets with oranges, corals and pinks, and were placed in wine bottles along all the tables. We didn't have a guestbook or favors. And we aren't big cake people, so we just had sheet cakes. The florist is a dear friend of mine, so we helped her assemble the flowers for the reception hall, under her guidance, of course. We didn't have a bartender, so we made the guests DIY with their own drinks.  It worked out just fine."

Favorite Moment

"The ceremony was my favorite moment.  It was extremely special to both of us and I cried plenty of times.  Tears of joy, of course.  My other favorite was getting to see our dearest loved ones all in one place."
